Can anyone give me honest feedback on the P90x program?

Hello, All

Well, a little background first. I'm 44, and currently working on losing weight and getting in shape. In fact I've lost about 55 pounds since last November (but probably have another 40 to go)! The loss has slowed recently, though, partly because my family is down to one car, which is keeping me away from the gym. I'm currently using an old bowflex in the garage, gives me a decent muscle workout, but have not been doing much cardio (other than chasing my 3 kids around).

Now the question. A friend from work recommended I look at the P90x program, he said he knew some people who had some success with it. I tried to do some research online, but you know how it is. All the so-called "review" sites are actually affiliates–they tell you how wonderful a product is and then try to sell it to you.

So I'm asking here. Does anyone use the P90x program? What do you like/dislike about it? What have your results been? Do you recommend the program? Any other helpful tips?

I appreciate any info that you can pass along. Thanks a ton!

Peace.

P90x is just a bunch of cardio and light endurance based strength training. It would be very helpful to lose fat if you have a decent diet.

you bet ! In april 2008 I was 317lbs and now in april 2009 I am 230lbs and have put on alot of muscle and can jog up to 5 miles its put me in the best shape ive ever been in my life!! The best things about the program is the workouts its like having your own personal trainer without spending thousands of dollars and the nutrition book is easy to follow and you defiantly won't starve.some of the workouts are hard but do what you can and be committed and it will work.yoga and plyometrics are the hardest so for a while use the cardio dvd until your in better shape and fallow the program book and good luck.

    Hello,

I have personally used P90X and I have dropped 30lbs and 10% body fat with the program. P90X comes witha n excelent diet program to work with as well. The better you follow the diet plan the better your results. I am currently doing the program again and I'm on day 72 of 90. I recommend it to anybody lookling to get in shape and lose weight. It is an extreme program and the wrokouts are 1+ hours each, so it will take time and dedication. The only equipment you will need to do P90X is a pullup bar and a set of dumbbells or resistance bands, then you are set to go. P90X is like having a Personal Trainer in Tony Horton there with you, giving you tips and making sure you do the exercises correctly. P90X has changed the way I look at my own health and fitness so much that I decided to become a Beachbody Coach (P90X Rep). I hope this helped you and if you have any other questions regarding P90X I would be happy to answer them.

    To Your Success,
